Awana

We decided not to send Madelyn to 3 year old pre-school, even though 3 yr old pre-school is a big deal around here.  I won't go into all the reasons that we didn't send her, although she would have loved to go.  We did start sending her to Awana on Wednesday nights.  There have been several benefits to sending her to Awana.  The first is listening to her memorize scripture with Cubbie bear. In the 4 weeks that she has attended she has memorized the foundation of the gospel.
"All have sinned"
"While we were sinners, Christ died for us."
"God loves us and sent his son."
"Jesus loves me." (Cubbie moto)
"God is love."
"God created the heavens and the earth."
With her being gone, Callie has benefitted from having one on one time with both Jason and I.  Although she often asks for "Na na" (Maddy), she is learning how to play with us and without the direction of a bossy older sister.  In addition to the spiritual and developmental benefits of a pre-school type setting of Awana, Maddy also had a special impromtu Dairy Queen date with Jason.  She was REALLY excited when she got home that she had ice cream with dad!
