As you may remember from months ago, we began updating and doing some remodeling. We are finding that contractors in Macomb are VERY slow to get things done. Promises of completed projects in 2-3 weeks are turning into 2-3 months with little to no progress. In early August we had the floor of our entry way torn up, the arch put in and the closet removed and reframed for a built in cabinet area. As you will see from the pictures, we still don't have a floor in and the cabinet is apparently still being built. Grrr.
I anticipate seeing a lot of change though in the next couple of weeks. While we wait, we are making progress on the painting.

| Bye-bye blue. Hello color yet to be determined. |
Bye-Bye Mauvey/beige. Hello Old Salem Gray (it's a green/gray)
This mauvey/beige will not be missed in our family room, dining room and kitchen. |
| Yeah the pink is gone and TV ready for mounting. |
| Saying good-bye to more mauvey-beige. Hello to Carrington beige (a bit more green undertone than we anticipate, but still much improved.) |
| We are still looking for the right color for the foyer, looking through the arch. The built in cabinet will go to the left of the arch facing the fireplace. We finally picked tile that will be laid in the foyer. Right now the cement board with rugs is working. |
Just in case we weren't having enough fun inside, we had to have part of our driveway torn up this week. Long story short, the driveway had shifted enough to send water pooling towards our house and putting enough pressure on the foundation to cause it to crack. Not good. The girls are very excited we are going to have cement trucks at our house!

| By this afternoon, 3 more full slabs and the partial on the right side have been removed. |
| I am standing on our front step looking down into the hole that was below our concrete. Water and soil are going somewhere... |
| The hole was partially filled in with rock, but still pretty deep. Thanks girls for serving as the reference point. |
