Dress Up

Fire Safety week at Pre-school this past week meant a visit from the fire department.  Madelyn has practiced her "Stop.Drop.Roll" repeatedly, reminding us to cover our eyes as we roll.  Seeing the fire truck was interesting and the fire hat a prized acquisition.

I was surprised that Callie didn't try to claim the hat as hers.  Instead they took to tap dancing on the step.
Tonight Callie also decided to enjoy some one on one time with Daddy.  She determined that he was sick and turned into Dr. Callie.

Don't you know that doctors wear heels!
After taking notes about her patient, she determined that Jason needed many shots.

This is serious business!
It has been fun to watch Callie develop her sense of imagination and determination.  She has been quite determined lately that she MUST have a pile of books in bed with her a she sleeps. I enjoy listening to her tell stories and sing while she looks at the books.  The trouble is that she would read indefinitely if we didn't insist she turn off the lights.  She sneaks out of bed after we turn off the light, piles her books back into her bed, turns on the closet light and opens the door far enough so she has enough light to read.  When we enter the room, she insists that she  "Need light!  Reading my books!!"

Sound asleep with her books.
