Jason left last Saturday for Missouri Valley to start RAGBRAI. The first two days were extremely hilly, but temperatures were bearable. Jason was disappointed the "century loop" was only 95 miles, but after getting soaked by another rain storm, he wasn't about to ride an extra 5 miles.
He rode into Ames Tuesday afternoon. Ames was one of the host cities. We ended up with the Rozendaal clan camping in our backyard. It was a fun night. Everyone appreciated the clean showers, flushing toilets, and air conditioning.
