Easter

"Jesus is ALIVE"

We spent Easter in Macomb this year. Without family around, it was a very quiet Easter. Well...as quiet as a house with two little girls can be. We have been opening up Easter eggs for the last 3 weeks, and enjoying the chocolate, in preparation for finding them empty on Easter Sunday, just like the tomb. It has been a joy to hear Madelyn explain Easter as "Jesus (God) died on the cross. God saves you. God saves me. God wuvs us. Jesus is alive." I have also been challenged to answer her "why" questions about Christ's death and resurrection in a way a child might begin to understand. Callie just begs for more chocolate. :)

Our attempts at a few outdoor pictures before church

Despite being overcast, Callie still is squinty in every picture!

They played with the empty eggs much of the afternoon. "Look Mom, no more eggs. I have checked them all and none have chocolate anymore!!!! Did you know that!!!!"

"Hey! More eggs. I'll check these."

PS- For those of you who think we are cruel for leaving empty eggs around the house. We did have a chocolate filled Easter egg hunt right before bed as we read the Easter story again and we let them eat more chocolate :)
