Saturday was a day full of variety, which can be summarized into three different categories. The first part of the day was filled with errands, house cleaning, school work and bathroom remodeling progress. The later being the most exciting. Friday night we finished painting and Saturday Jason started laying out the tile.

The second part of the day was the most irritating part. I was showering to get ready for Erica's (our neice) birthday party and Jason was stripping paint off a door in the laundry room. All of a sudden Jason was yelling. "Stop! Turn the water off! Now! We're backing up." After I quick rinsed the soap from my hair, I shut off the shower and the smell of sewer gas over took me. We have had this problem before, but the water level quickly went down and we could resume activity after some minor clean up. Not so this time. Today (Sunday) this issue is still not solved. We can't shower, flush the stool, or wash dishes without water and stench backing up into our laundry room. We'll try a few different things, but it may be time to call Roto Rooter...again. Now it might not be such a problem if the upstairs bathroom was functional because that goes into the sewer at a different point, but it is not functional.
The third part of our day consisted of Erica's 1st birthday party. We spent the evening in Oskaloosa celebrating with other uncles and aunts, cousins, and grandparents. Although we didn't get a picture of her cupcake eating adventure, here are a few. It was hard to catch her smiling or giggling on camera, but there were plenty of smiles. It is amazing how even at the age of 1 she understands "mine!" She was very protective of her new clothes and toys.
