As I mentioned in the previous post, we started our vacation with Jason's triathlon. We drove up to Door County, Wisconsin. Sturgeon Bay to be specific and stayed at nice bed and breakfast.

The main house

We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms

The beautiful gardens surrounding the home.
The day of the triathlon started out cool (mid 50's), but warmed up to the 80's so it was a beautiful day! The swimmer on their team swam a personal best and Jason and the runner met their time goals as well. Jason' averaged 19.7 miles per hour over the 56 mile course. They finished 3rd in the team relay portion of the triathlon out of the 19 teams that competed.

This is the transition area. Jason had already transitioned out. Notice how many bikers haven't left yet :)

Part of the beautiful course. Madelyn and I waited on this corner to cheer Jason and the other bikers on. Apparently this was a good spot because they were coming into a strong head wind and getting pretty tired.

Madelyn needed a little play time before hitting the road again to see Jason back into the transition area/finish line.

Finished! Jason is wearing the red and his runner is the shirtless guy. They had already passed the time chip and the runner was off running his 13 miles in 1 hr and 21 min. Notice how many bikes are still missing :)

Jason and Madelyn after the race.

The swimmer, the biker, the runner sporting their 3rd place "trophies" They all received medals as well.

Feeling great after the race!
